Podcast: Trump's America

Three American Studies Masters students from the University of Groningen - Iris de Voer, Anna van der Laan and Inge de Graaf - have created a podcast titled Trump’s America about Trump’s rhetoric and his influence in the events on January 6th, 2021 when the Capitol was stormed by Trump supporters.

The podcast is split into four separate parts to discuss polarization in the United States, Donald Trump’s rhetoric on January 6th, and the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement and his supporters. The last part of the podcast is an interview with renowned Dutch journalist and America expert Eelco Bosch van Rosenthal. This podcast aims to show how America has gotten to this polarized state and Donald Trump’s role in getting there. Moreover, the podcast aims to remind its listeners of the significance of the events on January 6th and how America is heading towards another critical moment in its history with the upcoming presidential elections this November.
