Infrastructure Walk
What are the communication infrastructures that mediate our urban life? As we move around, how are we being tracked? Conversely, where are the devices in the city that help us move around and follow us everywhere? Which data is collected and processed, and to what extent does it involve personal data? This data infrastructure walk is a guided walk with a focus on data infrastructures in public spaces. During this walk, we will experience how the digital world is connected to our physical environment.
During the walk we join a colourful community of different entities watching public spaces with their own interests in mind!
This walk is a creative approach to make you aware of ‘smart’ applications in the city, where we invite you to discover and uncover our datafied surroundings, gain agency in digital life and consider your personal preferences for smart yet livable cities.
There are limited places available, please sign up to join.
This data walkshop is connected to Alienation by Design. To get the most out of it we advise you to attend the lecture as well.
The walk is facilitated by the critical infrastructure lab and lead by Maxigas, co-principal investigator and assistant professor at Utrecht University, Department of Media and Performance.
